The Kirikiriroa Marathon Relay follows the stunning Te Awa River Path, winding alongside the Waikato River through some of Kirikiriroa’s most scenic and relaxed spaces. With flowing river views, wide shared paths, and a great community atmosphere, it’s the perfect setting to take on an event together as a team.

The undulating river path adds real character to the course. While it’s not a fast, flat run, the gentle rises and dips keep things interesting and provide just enough challenge to wake up the legs, ideal for shorter relay legs that feel rewarding without being overwhelming.

Marathon relay teams consist of 2, 3, or 4 participants, working together to complete the full 42.2km marathon course. The relay format makes this event especially popular for corporate wellbeing challenges, workplace teams, and social groups who want to experience the excitement of a marathon event without committing to the full distance individually.

Whether your team is walking, jogging, running, or mixing it up, the Te Awa River Path offers a supportive and inclusive environment where teamwork, encouragement, and finishing together are what really matter.
