
2025 COURSE
The course for 2025 is a mix between pavers, concrete paths and wooden boardwalks. The overall elevation is around 350m.
Race Director’s Briefing 7:50 AM – All runners must attend a short race briefing near the start line.
Start Time 8:00 AM – Official race start for all marathon and relay participants.
Course Description
The marathon begins with a climb up toward Gate 1, crossing a small road and heading to the new walking bridge. Runners cross the bridge, loop underneath, and continue along the path toward Fitzroy.
• Underpass Aide Station & Toilet – First stop after Fitzroy.
• Continue ~500m before turning back toward the Hamilton Gardens, doing a second loop under the bridge.
• Follow the path toward Hillcrest Trig, Hungerford St, and down Howell Ave to the river path.
• Continue to Riverglade, where there’s another aide station and toilet.
From there:
• Right on Newell Rd, then near-right onto Devine Rd, heading to the Tamahere turnaround.
• Aide station and toilet at Tamahere, also the 10K relay changeover point.
Runners then return to Hamilton Gardens following the same route in reverse.
Cut-off Time: 11:30 AM at Hamilton Gardens – runners must reach this point by then to continue.
Aide station, toilet, and relay changeover for 21K and 10K.
From there:
• Head north toward Memorial Drive, cross the ANZAC Bridge to Grantham St, and down the river path.
• Continue through Hamilton Parade, under Fairfield Bridge, and past the golf course to the final turnaround.
Cut-off Time: 2:30 PM at the final turnaround – must be reached to continue.

• Cupless Event – You must bring your own cup or hydration system. No disposable cups on course.
• Finish Line Closes: 4:00 PM
• Course Cut-off: 7 Hours Total Time
